Do you still have (old) slides?

These often dust away in a drawer somewhere, preventing you from sharing your valuable memories with the rest of the family. The photos, cards and such are also subject to loss of quality.

By having this photographic material digitized, you immediately create a secure backup of these precious memories. You can also easily share them as digital images, via email or social media, with family, friends and/or acquaintances. It is also possible to use these digital images to create a beautiful new (digital) photo book, ideal if you have several children.

We can professionally scan your negatives for you. If you provide the racks, boxes, inserts etc. in which they are located with a name or number, we will take them over and stick to this in the order.

Prices

Below is an overview of the rates we charge.

We do not have a minimum amount of slides/negatives/photos per job. However, there is a one-time setup fee of €7,50 per digitization job of this type of material.

All prices include 21% VAT.

File formats

We can supply just about all common formats. We normally use JPEG format. This gives a very good quality while the files don’t get too large. We can also save the photos in an uncompressed format. TIFF is a common format for this. This format is often used in professional printing. However, this format creates much larger files: with a small image slide scan at 4000 DPI, a TIFF file is about 70 MB in size. We can deliver your photos for INSERT SHORTCODE per photo in TIFF format.

Sample scans

Technique

We use professional scanners. We use the Nikon Coolscan 5000ED for 35mm slides. The slide scanners have a true optical resolution of 4000 DPI. The Digital ICE4 Advanced™ automatic correction function automatically removes scratches, damages and fingerprints from slides. Our scanners are the best tested in many independent tests.

Our process

  • After scanning and possibly applying image corrections, the films can be transferred to any format you want.
  • Almost anything is possible here.
  • We can transfer it as ready-made video files. They can then be played directly on your computer, TV, tablet, media player and smarthpone.
  • We can also put the images on DVD or Blu-ray.
  • Naturally, a combination of both is also possible.

Frequently Asked Questions – Slides

Could I request a sample scan?

Yes, that is possible. You can request your free sample scan here.

When copying large files I get an error message

The problem when a large video file cannot be copied is usually that the file system of the hard disk or USB stick is still in FAT32 format. Files larger than 4GB cannot be stored on a FAT32 volume. Formatting the flash drive in the exFAT or NTFS file system will solve this problem.

You can find more information about this:

Can I rent a projector or movie viewer so I can watch which films I want to digitize?

Yes, you can. We rent and sell film viewers and film projectors.
