Digitize audio tapes

1/4 inch tapes have been very popular for audio recording in the 50’s-80’s.

We can transfer these audio tapes neatly (make them digital) so that you can still listen to the recordings without a tape recorder and also prevent deterioration of the quality.

As standard, we transfer every sound carrier supplied by you to a computer file in WAV format on a USB stick / hard disk. The entire tape will be transferred.

Options

Make available via the internet

When making them available via the internet, you will receive a personal link with which you can download the files. We keep the files on our server for 2 months and then these files are deleted.

put on CD

We can also put your sound carriers on audio CD. You can indicate in which order and whether the sound carriers may be recorded separately on CD or filled out. A CD can hold a maximum of 70 minutes of audio per CD.

Other codec

We can convert your audio recordings to all modern audio formats. By default we transfer your material to WAV files. We can of course also supply other formats if you wish. For example .MP3, FLAC, OGG and AIFF are possible.

Our process

Your material is digitized to the computer at the highest possible quality. By default, the sound level is normalized (for example, sound that has been recorded very softly is then set to the correct sound level).

The conversions are done in our studio in excellent quality, using professional AD converters and sound equipment.

After reading in, we can optionally edit the sound material. You can think of: removing scratches and noise or making separate tracks.

The material is then put on a media carrier such as a USB stick or audio CD.

Frequently Asked Questions – Digitizing Audio Tapes

Could I request a sample scan?

Yes, that is possible. You can request your free sample scan here.

When copying large files I get an error message

The problem when a large video file cannot be copied is usually that the file system of the hard disk or USB stick is still in FAT32 format. Files larger than 4GB cannot be stored on a FAT32 volume. Formatting the flash drive in the exFAT or NTFS file system will solve this problem.
