Correctly centering the lamp is a very important matter. Proper centering of the lamp guarantees an evenly illuminated field of view. Incorrect centering
can also result in certain parts of the slide being heated too strongly, which can lead to damage (melting).
To center the projection lamp, place this center slide in the slide projector’s image window.
With this you view the filament and the mirror image of it designed by the reflector on a white piece of paper held close to the objective.
The light should be aimed so that the following image is visible:
1) With the biplane lamp spiral of the 500 Watt lamp, the lamp spiral and the mirror image together must form a plane that is as homogeneous as possible.
2) With the low-voltage lamp (36V or lower), the mirror image formed by the reflector must lie immediately above the filament itself.
Aiming is often done via one or more screws on your slide projector. If applicable, you will find the instructions for this in the manual of your slide projector.
