Create video for E-mail, WEB and Mobile Phone

Output: highly compressed video file for using on E-mail, WEB or Mobile Phone.

E-mail, WEB

For these kind of video's, you typically need the best possible compression. The size of the video has to be limited. Many E-mail accounts allow only E-mail smaller than 5 MB and Websites are typically 10-25 MB in size. This means that limiting the size of the video is the main-issue. So special attention has to be paid to compressing the video. Quality is less important.

I recommend on of the following formats:

MPEG-1
Most Portable format. Plays on any standard windows PC (no additional software needed). Drawback: needs most bits/second for reasonable quality. My preferred encoder: TMPGenc

Realvideo
Quite popular for streaming video. Good quality with low bitrate. Drawback: need to download Realplayer to view. My preferred encoder: Real Producer

DIVX / MPEG 4
New format, based on MPEG-4 codec. Has one of the best bitrate/quality factors. Drawback: need download of DIVX codec and needs fast CPU to play. My preferred encoder: Virtualdub (with DIVX codec installed)

Recommend settings for reasonable quality video:
